Chairman’s Update December 2009.
The committee has been working hard over the last month to put together the fixtures list for the next 6 months. We hope that it includes something for everyone – training, competitions, schooling, pleasure rides and some social events.
We are looking to add some guest speakers and other events once details have been confirmed. These will be added to the fixture list and details e-mailed out to all members.
At the AGM sadly both Emma Hayes and Kate Smith stepped down from the committee – both now having young families and horses, they found a lack of hours in the day to commit to running the club also. Both have provided a high level of support to the club over a number of years – thank you.
The new arrivals to the committee are Sarah Amas and Trish Lechner. Both have been very active members over the last few years and we are looking forward to their new ideas and ways of doing things.
It was lovely to see so many of you at the Christmas dinner on Friday 4th December. The Horns provided a great venue and I thought that the food was good. Thank you to Mel for organizing. Our next social event is a skittles evening on 30th Jan – all enquiries to Mel Widdows.
Milton Keynes Camp 2010 is looking very popular – Emma Delport has filled all available spaces – but if you do want to come, then ask Emma to put you on the waiting list. As we all know with horses, there are always some people who have to pull out nearer the date.
Both Gem and Sparks have come back into work after their holidays – so far both Rolf and I have stayed on, but with this cold, wet, windy weather combined with lack of turn out….I am just waiting!
I wish everyone a happy Christmas and a great New Year and hope to see you all out and about in 2010.
As you potter about over your Christmas break, spare a thought for Pip Edmunds – with Misty and foal returning to their yard, Pip now has 5 horses to look after during the festive period!
